Trending Cake Decoration Using Skewers or Toothpicks

Designer cakes are the norm these days. Today we are going to make one of the trending cake decorations using skewers or toothpicks. This decoration will look brilliant on a lemon-flavored cake due to the unique colour combination. Ecobake helps in getting the perfect shape for your cake without greasing or additional cleanup.

Ingredients

 

  • Lemon flavoured cake
  • Whipping cream
  • Orange food color
  • Green food color

Directions

 

  • Use Ecobake cooking paper to line a cake tin. Transfer the lemon cake batter to it and bake the cake in a digital OTG. Whip the cream in a stand mixer. Once the cake is cooled, divide the cake into 3 portions and frost with whipped cream.
  • Smoothen the cake with a spatula and cake scrapper and keep the cake in the fridge. In a bowl, add green/lime gel food colouring to whipped cream. Apply this lemon-colored cream to the cake top and sides and smooth with a spatula.
  • Using a silicon brush, make a swirl pattern, and the basic frosting is complete now. In a bowl, add orange gel food colouring to whipped cream and mix well to make an orange-coloured cream. Repeat the same steps for yellow-coloured cream as well.
  • Take skewers or toothpicks and arrange them in a flower pattern as shown. Place them equidistant and press the sticks slightly to remove these skewers. Take white whipped cream in a piping bag with a cut at the tip and make a pattern as shown and add a border as shown using the same nozzle.
  • Use orange cream to make roses using a 125 number nozzle and make petals as shown and place it on the cake top. Using a white cream cone, make a border at the base and your designer cake is ready.
