Make Bombay Halwa in the Sweet Shop Style

Make Bombay karachi halwa, also known as rubber halwa, in the sweet shop style. Bombay Halwa is made on several special occasions like festivals and family functions. With this recipe, you can make a super soft halwa. Ecobake helps in getting the perfect shape for your sweets without any greasing and no need for cleaning afterwards.

Ingredients

 

  • 1 cup corn flour
  • 3 cup water & 2+1/2 cup sugar { 450 grams ]
  • 1/2 cup water for sugar & 1/2 cup ghee
  • Orange food colour & 1/2 cup cashew nut
  • 1/3 cup melon seeds & pista for garnishing

Directions

 

  • Mix cornflour and water in a mixing bowl with a wire whisk to remove any lumps. In a pan, heat water and add sugar, and boil it till the sugar melts.
  • Once the sugar melts completely, add one spoon of lemon juice and cornflour water to it. Continuously stir using a wire whisk until the water thickens.
  • Once the water thickens, use a spatula to stir the mixture. After a while, add orange food colour to the cornflour and sugar mixture and combine well.
  • Add the broken cashews and mix well. Cook until the mixture leaves the pan without sticking to it when folded with a spatula.
  • Then switch off the stove and transfer the mixture to a mould lined with Ecobake cooking paper. Set the sugar with a spatula evenly. Garnish the halwa with pumpkin seeds and cut into small pieces.
