Ingredients
- Wheat flour 1 cup
- Rice flour ½ cup
- Ghee 1 tbsp
- Salt as required
- Dry fruits chopped
- Coconut grated 1 cup
- Jaggery 1 cup
- Nutmeg 1 pinch
- Cardamon ½ tsp
Directions
- In a dish add wheat flour, rice flour, ghee, salt and water to make a smooth dough. Keep the dough for resting for some time.
- In a kadai add dry fruits, roast it a little then add grated coconut, jaggery, nutmeg and cardamom powder and mix well. Once the jaggery melts let it thicken a little and switch of the gas.
- While the modak mixture is still warm, start making small puri shapes from the dough and keep filling the modak mixture in it. Carve out proper modak shapes with your hands.
- Oddy Ecobake cooking paper circles to line the steaming dish. Place the modaks on it and steam it for 10 mins in high flame or till it is cooked well. Modak can be easily removed from the steamer since Oddy Ecobake is non-sticky and eco-friendly.
