Chocolate Cake without cocoa

An easy Chocolate cake recipe without cocoa powder. It is very easy to make and it comes out very soft and moist. This cake needs very few ingredients and the result is so good. Do try this easy and interesting recipe. Oddy Ecobake helps in easy demolding of the cake.

Ingredients

 

  • Oddy Ecobake
  • Cake tin used is of 6"x6" square cake tin
  • Measuring cup used is of 200 ml capacity
  • Maida or refined flour- 1 cup+ 1/4 cup or 180g
  • Powdered sugar- 1/2 cup or 75g
  • Refined oil- 1/4 cup or 50ml
  • Milk- 1/4 cup or 50ml
  • Chocolate syrup- 1\4 cup + 2-3 tbsp
  • Baking powder- 1 tsp
  • Baking soda- 1/4 tsp
  • Lemon juice- 1 tsp
  • Chopped walnut- 2 tbsp + for garnishing

Directions

 

  • Wrap the cake tin with Oddy Ecobake. Do not grease as Oddy Ecobake is grease proof and non-sticky.
  • In a bowl add oil, powdered sugar and beat it till fluffy. Now add milk, vanilla essence and beat nicely. Sieve all-purpose flour, baking soda and baking powder. Add chocolate syrup and whisk the batter well.
  • Add lemon juice, walnuts and mix well. Pour the batter in baking tin. Tap the tin to remove air bubbles and add chopped walnuts on top for garnishing.
  • Preheat the pan on medium flame for 10 mins and bake the cake on low to medium flame for 30-35 mins. Check with a knife and if knife comes clean switch of the gas and let the cake cool down completely.
  • Demold the cake, cut and serve with vanilla ice cream.
