Gujarati White Dhokla

Ingredients

 

  • 1 cup Semolina
  • 1/4 cup besan
  • 1/3 cup Poha
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 1+1/4 cup butter milk
  • 2 tbsp Sev
  • 2 green chilli
  • 10-12 curry leaves
  • 2 Lemons
  • 1 tbsp sugar and salt to taste
  • 1 cup coriander
  • 1 tsp groundnut oil
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1/4 tsp hing and 1.5 tsp eno powder
  • 2 tsp red chilli powder and 1/2tsp crushed black pepper

Directions

 

  • In a mixer , take 1 cup Semolina, less than 1/4 cup besan, 1/3 cup Poha and grind into fine powder. Then add 1/2 cup yogurt,1+1/4 cup butter milk and mix well. And keep aside for 1/2 hour.
  • For the chutney, take 2 tbsp Sev, 2 green chilli, 10-12 curry leaves, juice of 1 lemon, 1 cup coriander, salt to taste, 1 tbsp sugar , water and grind to make chutney.
  • In a plate, grease with oil. Take the batter and add 1 tsp groundnut oil, juice of 1 lemon, 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste and salt to taste and mix well. If the batter is thick, add 1/4 cup butter milk and mix well. Then add 1/4 tsp hing and 1.5 tsp eno powder and mix.
  • Transfer it to the plate and sprinkle 2 tsp red chilli powder and 1/2 tsp crushed black pepper.
  • Steam it for 15-20 minutes. Cut into pieces.
  • Use Oddy Uniwrap brown foil to wrap it well and use for later use.
