About the Recipe

In Hindi, the Elephant Foot Yam is known as Jimikand or Kanda. It is abundant in protein, carbohydrates, and all the vitamins needed for healthy body functions. For your family, prepare this Jimikand kebab and serve it with green chutney. To make kebab rolls that can be wrapped in Oddy Uniwraps, the kebabs are prepared and rolled in parathas. This is quite convenient and prevents a mess when served, saving you time cleaning.

Ingredients

 

  • Elephant Foot Yam -250 g & Potato-1 & Carrot-1
  • Bengal gram-50 g & Garlic-8 & Green chilli-2
  • Ginger-1/2 inch & Cumin-1 tsp & Pepper-1 tsp
  • Cinnamon-1 & Cardamom-5 & Cloves-4
  • Black cardamom & Mace-1 & Salt
  • Turmeric powder & Coriander powder
  • Red chilli powder & Cumin powder & Ghee
  • Onion-1 & Coriander leaves & Dry mango powder
  • Oddy Uniwraps

Directions

 

  • Cut the yam, potato, and carrot into pieces and place them in a bowl. Wash well. Heat a pan, add ghee to it, add the spices to it, and add chopped garlic, ginger, and green chilies.
  • Now add the spice powders to it and stir well. Add the vegetables and Bengal gram to it, along with some water. Cover and cook for 20 minutes.
  • Add the sliced onions to the hot oil and fry until golden brown; keep aside. Mash the cooked vegetables and add the fried onions and coriander leaves.
  • Take portions of kebab dough and press to make kebabs, then fry them for some time until they turn brown and crisp. The hot and crisp Jimikand kebab is ready to be served.
  • Make a paratha and take it on Oddy Uniwraps; place kebab pieces; garnish with onions and green chutney. Tuck and roll to make the kebab roll.
