Make Processed Cheese at Home Without Rennet

About the Recipe

Try this homemade processed cheese recipe and you will never be disappointed. You can make 200g of cheese with 1.5 litres of tomed milk. You will need only a handful of ingredients to make the cheese at home. Uniwraps brown paper is useful in storing the cubed cheese pieces in the refrigerator for later use.

Ingredients

 

  • 1.5 Litre toned milk & 4 Tbsp vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp water & 1 Tsp citric acid
  • 3/4 Tsp baking soda & 35 gm butter
  • 3 Tbsp chenna water & 1/4 Tsp salt

Directions

 

  • In a pan, heat and stir toned milk, then gradually add vinegar until it curdles. Once the milk completely curdles, separate it from the water.
  • Dissolve citric acid in water and grind it together with curdled milk, baking soda, and butter. Once a thick paste is formed, put it in a bowl and melt it using the double boiler method.
  • Take an aluminium box, pour the liquid into it, and close the lid. Refrigerate this box for 5 hours. Remove the cheese from the aluminium box after 5 hours.
  • Place the cheese on an Ecobake baking sheet and cut into pieces.Wrap a cheese slice in a piece of Oddy Uniwraps brown paper. This can be kept in the fridge for later use.
