Semi Fondant Doll Cake With Tricks

About the Recipe

Try out this semi-fondant doll cake. It has a new technique to make a pretty children’s cake. To bake cakes, try out the new Oddy Ecobake cooking papers. It comes in precut circle shapes and is easy and convenient to use. No need to grease cake pans or trays.

Ingredients

 

  • 550 gms - 560 gms of cake premix, 250 gms water
  • 2 tbsp strawberry emulsion. (optional if you don't have strawberry emulsion, add strawberry essence and strawberry colour).
  • 1 tbsp oil, a bowl of whipped cream,
  • readymade strawberry crush and strawberry compote (fruit filling) .
  • white and pink foundant sheets
  • Pink or edible food colour, chocolate garnishing sheet, star nozzle, R11 nozzle

Directions

 

  • In a bowl take 550 gms - 560 gms of cake premix. Add 250 gms water and 2 tbsp strawberry emulsion. (optional if you don't have strawberry emulsion, add strawberry essence and strawberry colour).
  • Now mix everything well. Then add 1 tbsp oil and again give it good mix once again. Now take a 8 inches tin for baking.
  • Line it with Oddy Ecobake cooking paper circles. It is a pre cut paper. It can be used for baking, cooking and is completely safe and convenient to use. Bake the cake at 180 degrees for 35 to 40 mins.
  • Once the cake is cooled, cut off the brown cake edges from the top and side of the cake. Then cut the cake into 4 equal slices or layers. Then take a bowl of whipped cream and add strawberry crush and strawberry compote (fruit filling) to the whipped cream.
  • Now take a single cake layer and moisten it with water and spread a whipped cream layer evenly and add 1 tbsp of strawberry crush for extra flavour. Follow the same procedure for the rest of the three remaining layers. Keep on placing the layers on above the other.
  • Now again cover the whole cake with whipped cream, giving it a good even layer. Now place the cake in the fridge to refrigerate it nicely.
  • In the meantime, take a white and pink foundant and roll it out evenly. Cut out some topping decoration in the form if different flowers and heart shapes. After sometime, remove the cake from the fridge onced chilled. Again layer the cake with white whipped cream.
  • Then take a pipping bad and fill it with dark pink coloured whipped cream. Give a plain circle layer around the cake. Now even the pink layer. This will give a nice thin pink coating of strawberry to the cake. Now keep it in fridge for sometime.
  • Now take a chocolate garnishing sheet. This will be used to make the a nice patterned dress of the doll. Cut it in the shape of a dress. Next complete the border of the cake with pink colour in a star nozzle.
  • Now place some cream on side of the cake to place the doll and give it some height. Put some cream near the body of the doll to give the fondant dress some volume.
  • Now place the cut of dress and gently press it on and around the body of the cake. Cover the back area nicely with some cream. Make small belt of the remaining dress cut out. Now make frills with R11 nozzle around the doll. Lastly place the topping made out of white and pink fondant.
