Suji Chakli

About the Recipe

Across India, chakli recipes vary greatly. Generally, rice flour, wheat flour, chickpea flour or fine rava is used to make Chaklis. Try this Suji Chakli recipe and serve it to our family and relatives. Oddy Ecobake is grease proof and helps in making and keeping the chaklis crispier.

Ingredients

 

  • 1 cup suji
  • 2 cups rice grain powder
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp carom seeds
  • ½ tsp chilli poder
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp ghee
  • Salt as required
  • Oil for frying

Directions

 

  • In a kadai add 2 cups water, salt and ghee. Once the water boils add suji and mix simultaneously. Avoid forming any lumps. Let the suji cook well and absorb all the water.
  • Remove the suji in a dish. Add rice grain powder, sesame seeds, carom seeds, coriander powder, chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt. Mix well with a spatula when the mixture is already hot.
  • Add warm water and mix it into a dough. Add the dough into chakli presser. Take a plate and keep Oddy Ecobake baking paper on it. Oddy Ecobake prevents the chakli from sticking the plate and also is grease proof.
  • Deep fry the chaklis in hot oil. Keep the flame high while frying and once golden remove from heat. Remove the chaklis and our crunchy and tasty Suji chakli is ready.
