Vermicelli or Sameya Puttu

Do you want to make a healthy breakfast for your family, or do you want to make a quick snack for your children? This recipe shows how to make vermicelli (sameya) puttu. It is a simple recipe made from sameya, grated coconut, sugar, and ghee. The Oddy Ecobake cooking paper tray which is reusable is used in the recipe to steam non-sticky vermicelli easily.

Ingredients

 

  • Vermicelli/sameya-1 packet
  • Salt-1/4 tsp
  • Grated coconut
  • Sugar
  • Ghee- 1 tbsp
  • Oddy Ecobake

Directions

 

  • Line a steamer plate with oddy Ecobake cooking paper tray.
  • Empty a packet of vermicelli into a bowl of water with salt.
  • Transfer the vermicelli to the steamer plate. Let it steam for 5–7 minutes.
  • Take the steamed vermicelli into a bowl and add grated coconut, sugar, and ghee.
  • Mix well. A quick and tasty vermicelli puttu is ready. Serve it hot.
