Affordable Designer Cake

About the Recipe

Make this designer cake on a budget and without any hassle. You do not need any fancy tools to make the cake decoration. We are going to decorate the cake using simple roses. Ecobake cooking paper helps to get the perfect shape for your cake without any greasing and with no need for additional cleanup.

Ingredients

 

  • 200 gms vanilla cake premix & 2 Tbsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp strawberry essence & 1/2 cup & 2 tbsp water
  • 1+1/4 cup chilled whipping cream
  • 1/2 tsp strawberry essence & Pink and green gel food colour
  • Strawberry fruit crush – 2 tbsp & Golden sprinkles

Directions

 

  • Take vanilla cake premix, add 2 TBSP oil, strawberry essence, and water, and mix well to prepare a smooth batter. Line a 6-inch cake tin with baking paper and transfer the cake batter into it.
  • Bake the cake in a preheated oven at 170°C for 30–35 minutes. Meanwhile, take chilled whipping cream, add strawberry essence, and beat it until stiff peaks are formed.
  • Take out 3 spatulas of cream and keep them separate. Add a few drops of pink gel food colouring to the left-over cream and whip to make pink cream. Once the cake is baked and cooled, divide it into 3 parts for frosting.
  • Place the first cake layer on the cake board, moisten with sugar syrup, and apply pink cream. Spread 2 tbsp of strawberry fruit crush on the cream, then place another cake layer and repeat the process.
  • Place the third and final cake layer on top, moisten with sugar syrup, and cover with white whipped cream. Smoothen the cake sides with a card/cake scrapper and smoothen the cake top with a spatula.
  • Take an oil brush and make a pattern with the brush on the cake's sides and top. Take leftover pink cream in a rose petal nozzle and place some cream on the cake top sides. Take a straw and start making roses on it as shown.
  • Place the rose on the cake top over the cream line. Make more roses with a similar method and cover the cake top border with them. Take a piping bag and make a V cut on its tip.
  • Fill it with green cream and make leaves around roses with this piping bag with an open star-shaped nozzle. Make a border on the cake bottom and sprinkle some golden sprinklers.
