Gulab Jamun Cake Without Butter and Curd

Gulab Jamun cake is a fusion of basic vanilla cake and an Indian sweet recipe, gulab jamun. Here we have added ras malai essence to bring an amazing flavor to the cake. Ecobake helps in getting the perfect shape for your cake, and there is no need for additional cleanup.

Ingredients

 

  • Maida or refined flour- 1 Cup & Milk- 1/2 cup+ 2 tbsp
  • Powdered Sugar- 1/2 cup+ 1/4cup & Milk powder- 4tbsp
  • Refined oil- 1/4 cup & Baking powder- 1 tsp
  • Baking soda- 1/4 tsp & Vinegar- 1 tsp
  • Salt- 1/4 tsp & Ras malai Essence- 1/2 tsp
  • Chilled whipping cream- 1 cup
  • Rasmalai Essence- 5-6 drops & Gulab Jamun- 8 pieces
  • Golden balls for garnishing & Yellow gel food colour- 4-5 drops

Directions

 

  • Mix the wet ingredients for the cake in a mixing bowl. Sieve the dry ingredients into the bowl and mix them with the wet ingredients to prepare the cake batter. 
  • Transfer the cake batter into a cake mould lined with brown Ecobake cooking paper. Bake the cake for 30 to 35 minutes in a preheated oven at 180 °C. 
  • Once the cake is baked and cooled, trim the upper part of the cake. Then divide the cake into 3 equal parts. Mix whipping cream with yellow food gel and rasmalai essence in a bowl.
  • Beat them until stiff peaks are formed. Place the first cake layer on the cake board, soak it with sugar syrup, apply cream frosting and garnish with chopped gulab jamun pieces. 
  • Now repeat the same process for the second and third layers of the cake. Frost the cake completely with the cream and level it using a spatula. 
  • Frost the cake completely with cream frosting. Make roses with a star-shaped nozzle on the top of the cake. Make a leaf design at the bottom of the cake. 
  • Place gulab jamun pieces on alternate roses. Make leaf designs on the remaining roses as shown. Add gulab jamun pieces on the sides of the cake and garnish with golden balls.
