How to make homemade processed cheese slice in 20 Mins

About the Recipe

You can now make processed cheese at home without rennet and with minimal ingredients, which will only cost around Rs.60, whereas buying processed cheese from the store can cost you around Rs.300.

Ingredients

 

  • 1.5 litre milk
  • 6 tablespoons of vinegar
  • ½ table spoon of water.
  • ½ table spoon of citric acid.
  • ½ table spoon of baking soda.
  • 1 tablespoon of butter.
  • ¼ table spoon of salt.
  • 2 table spoon of lukewarm milk.

Directions

 

  • Pour the milk into a vessel and heat it on stove until it gets lukewarm.
  • Remove the milk from the stove and add 6 tablespoons of vinegar in it gradually while stirring it continuously.
  • When you see the milk strain separating from the milk, cover the vessel and let it sit for 2 minutes.
  • Collect the milk strain after 2 minutes and filter it from the excess water.
  • Set aside the milk strain.
  • Mix the ½ table spoon of water and citric acid until it fully melts.
  • Now add ½ table spoon of baking soda and wait until the foam disappears. The Sodium Citrate solution is now ready!
  • Add the strained cheese into mixer, along with a table spoon of butter, the sodium citrate solution we prepared, ¼ table spoon of salt and 2 tablespoon of lukewarm water.
  • Blend the ingredients nicely for one minute.
  • Transfer the content into a bowl and place it on the stove.
  • Keep stirring and let the mixture melt.
  • Pour the melted cheese onto a flat surface with ecobake plastic wrap and spread uniformly.
  • Let it cool at room temperature.
  • After it cools down, refrigerate it for 6 hours.
  • Remove the edges after refrigeration and cut them into small square slices, as desired and the sliced cheese is ready!
  • You can now make cheese toast or sandwich with home made cheese!
