Maddur Vada

About the Recipe

Maddur Vade is very simple to prepare and tastes awesome too. It is made with a mix of rice flour, all purpose flour, onions and some herbs-spices. Do try making this amazing evening snack recipe and let us know your comments.

Using Oddy Brown Ecobake, the batter won’t stick and there is no need of cleaning utensils afterwards.

Ingredients

 

  • Onion - 1 Big (After slicing, it is 1 glass)
  • Medium Rava/Semolina - 1 Glass
  • Maida - 1 Glass
  • Rice Flour - 1/2 Glass
  • Green Chilli - 3 Nos.
  • Ginger - 1 Inch
  • Coriander Leaves - Few
  • Curry Leaves - Few
  • Ground Nuts - 2 Tbsp
  • White Sesame Seeds - 1 Tbsp
  • Ghee - 1 Spoon
  • Hot Oil - 2 Spoon
  • Salt To Taste
  • Oil To Deep Fry Maddur Vade

Directions

 

  • In a bowl, take onions and add green chillies and garlic. Now add coriander and curry leaves to it. Put some salt as well. Mix it well.
  • Then add 1 glass of medium sized rava or semolina and add maida too. Now put 2 tbsp ground nuts and white sesame seeds.
  • After mixing it well, add 1 spoon ghee and 2 spoons of hot oil to the mixture. Add some water as per requirement to form a smooth batter.
  • Make small balls of the mixture and keep it on a plate. Using Brown Oddy Ecobake, flatten out the balls on it in the form of a tikki. Same sheet can be reused several times.
  • In a kadhai, take some oil for deep frying Maddur Vadas.
  • Delicious Maddur Vadas are ready to serve!
