Nippattu Akki Roti | Rice Roti

About the Recipe

Kannadigara all time favourite akki rotti can now be made with nippattu flavour. Ecobake helps in getting perfect akki rotis without any greasing and no need of cleaning afterwards.

Ingredients

 

  • Rice Flour - 1.5 Cups
  • Flattened Rice/Poha/Avalakki (Medium/Thick) - 3/4 Cup
  • Ground Nut - 2 Tbsp and Moong Dal - 2 Tbsp
  • Jeera - 1/2 Spoon and Hing - 1/4 Spoon
  • Salt To Taste
  • Onion (Finely Chopped) - 1 No.
  • Curry Leaves and Coriander Leaves - Few
  • Oil - 1 Tbsp
  • Mustard Seeds - 1/2 Spoon and Red Chilli - 3 Nos.

Directions

 

  • In a bowl, take Rice Flour and keep it aside. Now in a kadhai, roast Flattened Rice/poha for some time on low flame.
  • Then grind the poha into a coarse paste.Then add roasted poha to rice flour.
  • In the same kadhai, roast some peanuts or ground nut and grind it into a coarse paste. Add this to the mixture.
  • Now roast moong dal in kadhai on medium flame and add it to the mixture. Add the dry spices like Jeera, Hing and salt.
  • To the mixture, add one finely chopped Onion and a few curry as well as coriander leaves. Mix all of this well.
  • In the middle of the mixture, make some space for tadka.
  • In a kadhai, take oil and add mustard seeds. Let them splutter and then add red chillies. Add this tadka to the dough mixture we had prepared.
  • Mix all of this well to prepare dough. Add water as required.
  • Take out a sheet of Oddy Brown Ecobake baking and cooking paper and then flatten out the dough to prepare akki roti. There is no need to grease as well since we are using Oddy Ecobake.
  • Now cook the akki roti from both sides and it is ready to serve.
