Orange Cake Without an Oven

This cake is delicate and supple and bursts with the flavor of fresh orange with a little bit of ginger. This basic recipe for the orange cake is simple to prepare and only gets better with time. With Oddy Ecobake, you can bake the orange cake perfectly without using oil to grease the mold.

Ingredients

 

  • Orange Zest - 1/2 tsp & Ginger - 1 inch
  • Orange juice - 1/4 cup & Oil - 3 tbsp
  • Sugar - 1/4 cup & Maida - 3/4 cup
  • Baking powder - 1 tsp & Baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  • Orange emulsion - few drops & Sugar - 3 tbsp
  • Corn flour - 1 tbsp & Orange food emulsion - few drops
  • Water - 1 tbsp & Oddy Ecobake

Directions

 

  • Collect orange zest by grating orange peel. Grate ginger and keep them both separately. Collect 1/4 cup of orange juice, add oil and powdered sugar to it, and mix well.
  • Add the dry ingredients through a sieve to the wet ingredients. Add a few drops of orange emulsion to the bowl. To make the cake batter, combine all of the ingredients.
  • Transfer the cake batter to a mould lined with Oddy Ecobake. Bake the cake for 30 minutes in a preheated kadai. Once the cake is baked and cooled, demold it and remove the Oddy Ecobake.
  • Prepare the icing by mixing castor sugar (3 tbsp sugar and 1 tbsp corn flour), water, and orange emulsion. Apply and spread the prepared orange icing to the cake, and then cut it into small pieces.
