Simple and Easy Maize Roti

About the Recipe

Popular Punjabi flatbreads are called makki ki roti. The name of this well-known maize flour bread comes from the Punjabi word for maize flour. You can easily flatten the maize flour dough with the aid of Oddy Ecobake. Using Oddy Ecobake to flatten the dough eliminates the need to flour the surface.

Ingredients

 

  • Maize flour -1 cup
  • Water -1+1/2 cup
  • Ghee -1/2 tsp & Salt
  • Oddy Ecobake Cooking Paper Circle

Directions

 

  • Heat water in a pan and add salt and ghee to it. Add the maize flour to the boiling water and mix well.
  • Turn off the stove and leave it for 5 minutes. After 5 to 10 minutes, make a dough out of the mixture.
  • Make small roundels from the maize flour dough. Take an Oddy Ecobake Cooking Paper Circle and place one ball on it.
  • Place another Oddy Ecobake Cooking Paper Circle on the dough and press well with a plate as shown.
  • Transfer the raw roti to a tawa and cook until brown spots appear on it. Your maize roti, or makki ke roti, is ready!
