Steamed Ragi Puttu

About the Recipe

Today we are going to make steamed puttu with ragi vermicelli. This is a simple recipe that does not take much effort and can be made for evening snacks or for breakfast too. An Ecobake non-stick liner can be used to steam the puttu without sticking to the steamer plate.

Ingredients

 

  • Ragi Vermicilli
  • Water
  • Salt
  • Grated coconut
  • Sugar or Jaggery

Directions

 

  • Soak ragi vermicilli in water with a pinch of salt for 2 minutes.
  • Strain the water from the ragi vermicilli and transfer it to a steaming plate with an Ecobake non-stick liner. 
  • Steam the vermicilli for 10 minutes or until they are cooked well.
  • Remove the ragi vermicilli from the steaming plate once it is cooked and transfer it to a bowl or plate.
  • Add grated coconut and sugar as per taste, and enjoy the dish.
