An Interesting Pahadi Recipe

About the Recipe

Today, we are going to make Uttarkhand’s special pahadi recipe. It is made of rice flour, corn meal, and masoor dal. Oddy Ecobake helps steam the moong dal buns in an idli steamer without the need for additional cleanup.

Ingredients

 

  • Masoor dal - 1 cup & Green chillies - 3
  • Garlic - 3 to 4 cloves & Ginger paste - 1 tsp
  • Salt - A pinch & Water
  • Rice flour - 2 cups & Corn meal - 1/4 cup

Directions

 

  • Soak masoor dal in water for 8 to 12 hours or over night. Remove the excess water and grind the soaked masoor dal with ginger, chillies, and garlic pods in a mixer jar. Transfer this masoor dal paste into a bowl.
  • To prepare the dough, boil water in a pan, add rice flour, corn meal, and salt to it one by one, and mix well. Take a small portion of dough, flatten it using your hands, and fill it with masoor dal paste. Place another flattened dough on it and seal it.
  • Boil some water in an idli steamer and place a steamer plate on it lined with an Oddy Ecobake perforated liner. Place the buns on the steaming plate, close the lid, and steam them for 10 minutes. You can make these steamed rice-flour buns in various shapes and flavours.
