Cakesicles

About the Recipe

Are you planning a party at home for any special occasion or a get-together with kids? This recipe shows how to make chocolate cake popsicles that are most liked by kids. Chocolate cake popsicles, also called “cakesicles,” are a fun twist on a traditional cake pop, crafted in a Popsicle mold. Cakesicles are an easy-to-make version of a chocolate shell surrounding a blend of cake and chocolate frosting. To make the soft cake sponge, we used Oddy Ecobake, which is reusable and user-friendly.

Ingredients

  • Veg Oil - 1/4 Cup (50 ml) & Powdered Sugar - 1/2 Cup (70 gm)
  • Vanilla Essence - 1 Tbsp & Melted Chocolate - 1/4 Cup (50 ml)
  • Coconut Oil - 2 Tbsp & sugar sprinkles
  • Dry ingredients: All purpose flour-1 cup & Baking Powder - 1 Tsp & Baking Soda - 1/2 Tsp & Pinch of Salt
  • Oddy Ecobake
  • Curd- 1/4 cup & Milk-1/2 cup

Directions

  • Add oil, curd, and vanilla essence to a bowl and whisk well. Mix in the sifted dry ingredients and melted chocolate using the cut and fold method. Now add milk gradually to it and mix without lumps. The cake batter is ready.
  • Line an 8" cake tin with Oddy Ecobake. Pour the batter into the cake tin. Bake the cake for 45 minutes on a low flame in a preheated kadai.
  • Check whether the cake is baked using a toothpick; a clear toothpick means a perfectly baked cake. Let it cool and unmold carefully.
  • Now add the shredded dark chocolate and coconut oil to a bowl and melt them using the double boiler method to make chocolate ganache. Set aside the crumbled cake. Apply chocolate ganache to the mould lavishly, add crumbled cake, and cover with chocolate ganache.
  • Refrigerate for 30 minutes. Demold it carefully after 30 minutes. Decorate with melted chocolate and sugar sprinkles of your choice.
  • Refrigerate for another 10 minutes. The kids' favourite chocolate cake popsicles are ready.
