Chickpea Sandwich

About the Recipe

Make this tasty and healthy sandwich using whole wheat bread filled with the goodness of chickpeas. Other raw, chopped vegetables can also be added. Serve it with some dip or chutney. These sandwiches can be made using Oddy Ecobake as there is no need for cleaning afterward.

Ingredients

 

  • Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
  • Oil - 2-3 tsp
  • Black olives (optional)
  • Fresh coriander leaves
  • Oddy Ecobake
  • Lemon juice
  • Bread slices
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Onion - 1/2 cup
  • Green chilli - 1
  • Capsicum and tomato
  • Salt as per taste
  • Boiled chickpeas

Directions

 

  • Heat oil in a pan and add some cumin seeds. Roast it for a while. Then add onions and green chilli. Saute it well. Now add some sliced capsicum and tomato. Saute it well.
  • Add salt as per taste. Now put in the spices like red chilli powder and turmeric. Mix everything well and then put in the boiled chickpeas. Mash them well and mix them.
  • Add fresh coriander leaves and lemon juice. Mix it well and keep it aside. Add the prepared mixture on top of the bread, followed by onion and cucumber slices.
  • You can also add some black olives (optional). Keep another slice of bread on top and now toast it on a tawa or pan lined with Oddy Ecobake.
  • Apply some butter on top of Oddy Ecobake and then cook the sandwich from both sides.
