Easy & Healthy Tiffin Recipes For Kids

About the Recipe

There are 4 different types of kid-friendly tiffin recipes in this recipe. All of these dishes may be made using the same suji and curd basis. This recipe is great for kids. To prevent oil from getting inside your child’s lunchbox, use Uniwrap paper foil.

  • Suji - 2 Cups
  • Curd - 1 Cup
  • Chopped Onions
  • Chopped Capsicum
  • Chopped Soya Chunks
  • Corn - 2 to 3 tbsp
  • Chopped Cabbage
  • Peanut butter, Muesli and Dry fruits
  • Kashmiri chilli powder, herbs, and kasuri methi



  • Mix 2 cups of suji and 1 cup of curd to make the batter. Add little amount of water to the batter to spread it easily on the tawa. You may add a pinch of baking soda if you wish to use the batter instantly. Or else let the batter ferment for 2 to 3 hours.
  • Add 1 tbsp of oil and saute soya chunks in a pan. Add salt and kashmiri chilli to the chunks. Take a dosa tawa and spread the prepared suji batter. Spread soya chunks on the base and wait for 2 to 3 minutes. Flip the uttappam over and press a bit. Sprinkle oil on the uttappam and it is ready to serve.
  • To make another variety, prepare Uttappam base and sprinkle paneer, boiled corn kernels. Add herbs and some oil to cook the base. When it is cooked for 2 to 3 min, turn over and press a bit. The uttappam is ready to be served.
  • Spread the batter and sprinkle chopped onions, cabbage, black pepper and salt. The flame should be medium to low. Drizzle some oil and flip the Uttapam. When the base turns crispy transfer it to a plate.
  • Prepare uttappam base and transfer it to a plate. Now spread 2 tbsp of peanut butter on it. You can garnish the base with mueseli or nuts or roasted oats. Cut the uttappam into four slices and pack them to your kids lunch box with uniwraps paper foil.
