Ladi Pav Buns in an Oven Without Eggs

About the Recipe

Ladi pav, or bread buns, are one of the most common types of bread in India. It is widely consumed and is delicious when served with vada, aloo Tikki, or in the form of pav bhaji. Oddy Ecobake is used to proof the dough and to get the perfect shape for your buns without getting stuck to the mold.

Ingredients

 

  • Warm water - 1 cup, sugar - 2 tbsp & Instant dry yeast - 1.5 tbsp
  • Maida - 2 cups, Salt - 1 tsp & Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Water spray & Milk for washing the buns
  • Ghee or oil & Oddy Ecobake

Directions

 

  • Activate the yeast by adding it to a cup of warm water with sugar. Leave it for 15 minutes. Once the yeast is activated, add the maida to the bowl and give it a mix. Add salt to the dough and knead well.
  • Apply oil to the surface; stretch and fold the dough as shown. Divide the dough into small balls as shown. Arrange them in a mould lined with Oddy Ecobake. Smoothly flatten the balls.
  • Spray water on the balls and cover the mould with a cloth for 2 hours to proof the dough. Wash the buns with milk and bake them for 20 minutes in a preheated oven at 180 °C.
  • Take them out, and apply oil or ghee to the tops of the buns. Bake them again for 2 to 3 minutes at 200 degrees C. Youtr ladi pav buns with amazing texture and colour are ready.
