Raw Mango Candy

About the Recipe

Raw mango candy reminds us of our old school days. Here is the recipe for making those candies so that you can relish it. Needs very few ingredients and easy to make. We can place the candies in Oddy Ecobake baking and cooking paper, it helps to set the candies and its non-sticky feature makes the process of making candy a breeze.

Ingredients

 

  • 1 raw mango cubed
  • Water 250 ml
  • Sugar 100 gms
  • 1/4th cup water
  • ¼ tsp roasted cumin powder
  • 1/4th tsp black salt
  • 2 drops green food colour (optional)

Directions

 

  • Add raw mangoes and water and make a puree in mixer. Sieve the mixture in a big sieve buy running the spatula on it. We need to strain the mangoes residue as we need just the plain mango water for this recipe.
  • Again, we need to sieve the mixture, this time with a smaller sieve, running a spoon just like step 1. Add sugar and water in a saucepan and keep stirring to form a thick sugar syrup. When you take the mixture between two fingers, it should form a thin line. Now add the strained mango water and mix well.
  • Keep the has on high stove and let mixture boil nicely. Add cumin powder, black salt and green food colour. Cook the mixture till the becomes very thick and keep on stirring to avoid any lumps.
  • To check the consistency of the mixture, add it in a bowl of water and if the mixture becomes hard as soon as you put it in water, the mixture is ready to make candies.
  • Add the mixture in moulds or keep it in Oddy Ecobake baking and cooking paper to let it set. For setting the candies in Oddy Ecobake you need to take the mixture in spoon and drop it in Oddy Ecobake. Since it is non-sticky, the candies set in perfect shape. Oddy Ecobake is convenient and reusable as well. Keep the candies in refrigerate for 1 hour to set the candies.
  • The candies can be stored individually in cling films and stored in Jars.
