About the Recipe

Stained glass cookies are delicious, buttery, and simple cookies that you can make for your little ones. It is a very versatile recipe: crispy buttery cookies filled with crushed hard candies that are baked in the oven so the candies melt and create a stained glass-like pattern in the middle. Your cookies come off hassle-free by lining your baking tray with Oddy Ecobake, which is reusable and sturdy.

Ingredients

Softened Butter-1 cup & Icing sugar-1cup
Salt -a pinch & Vanilla essence-1 tsp
Egg-1 & All-purpose flour
Baking powder-1 ¼ tsp & Hard candy of different flavors
Oddy Ecobake

Directions

Add butter, icing sugar, salt, vanilla essence, and eggs to the bowl and whisk till creamy.
Then add flour and baking powder to it and make it into a soft dough. Wrap it in a cling sheet and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Take it out of the fridge and divide into two portions. Roll the dough slightly thick and cut with a cookie cutter; make a cut in the center using a small cooking cutter.
Line a baking tray with Oddy Ecobake. Arrange the cookies on the baking tray and bake for 12 minutes in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius.
Crush hard candies and keep them aside separately. Take the cookies out of the oven.
Then fill the middle of the baked cookies with the crushed candies and bake again for 3 minutes at 170 degrees Celsius. Let it completely cool, then unmould the cookies.
Store it and enjoy it with your kids.
