Ugadi Special Carrot Holige

About the Recipe

Carrot holige or carrot obbattu recipe is easy to make and requires very few ingredients. This is made using maida and the stuffing (hoorana) is prepared using grated carrot, sugar, chiroti Rawa and cardamon powder. Oddy Ecobake will prevent sticking and is ideal for making such recipes.

  • Carrot - 1.5 kg
  • Sugar - 500 gram
  • Maida- 300 grams
  • Chiroti rawa- 4 tablespoon
  • Thick milk - 1 cup
  • Elaichi/cardamom
  • Pinch of salt
  • Ghee
  • Sunflower oil



  • Take a mixing jar and add maida, 4 tbsp chiroti rawa, salt, and 2 spoons of oil, add water and mix it well.
  • Make the dough softer and crush the carrot in a mixer grinder.
  • Heat a pan and add 2 tbsp ghee, then add the grated carrot, add sugar and mix after 10 minutes.
  • Add 3 to 4 spoons of chiroti Rawa and cardamom powder with the carrot mixture.
  • Leave it a while for cool then make roundels from the carrot mixture and maida.
  • Stuff the carrot inside the dough and roll it out.
  • Take a sheet of Oddy Ecobake, place the dough on it, and press it gently with your hand then roll.
  • Place the roll-out dough on the tawa and cook till it becomes golden in colour.
