Unique steamed Lauki recipe. It is healthy and easy to make. While steaming, use Oddy Ecobake to line the vessel.  It helps in getting the perfect base without any greasing and no need for cleaning afterward.

Ingredients

 

  • 1 lauki (Cleaned, peeled, deseeded and grated)
  • 3-4 garlic pods chopped finely,
  • 2 green chili chopped finely,
  • 2 tbsp oats, 2 tbsp besan, 1 cup wheat flour,
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder, ½ tsp red chili powder,
  • Salt as per taste, Oddy Ecobake
  • ¼ tsp mustard seeds, ¼ white sesame seeds

Directions

 

  • Take 1 grated lauki in a bowl. Add 3-4 garlic pods chopped finely, 2 green chili chopped finely, 2 tbsp oats, 2 tbsp besan, 1 cup wheat flour, ½ tsp turmeric powder, ½ tsp red chili powder, Salt as per taste.
  • Mix it without adding water by hand. If required add little dry flour. Make a soft dough. Add 1 tsp oil and knead again.
  • Take a plate and line it with Oddy Ecobake as per plate size. Place the dough on the plate. Spread the dough with a spoon or spatula.
  • Keep the kadhai ready for steam. Place the plate on a stand in the kadhai and cover with lid for 8-10 mins.
  • Once done allow it to cool to room temperature. Remove it from plate and cut into desired shape.
  • Take a pan with little oil. Once hot, add mustard and sesame seeds, add the cut pieces and fry till the color changes to light golden color.
  • Place the dhokla batter tray on the water. Cover it and let it steam for 10-15 minutes. After 12 minutes, check with a toothpick. If the toothpick comes clean, then dholkla is ready to be served.
