Apple Galette

About the Recipe

A galette is an open-faced pie. Apples are thinly sliced and tossed in sugar and cinnamon powder layered on a pie crust. The crust is folded over the apples in a rough circle and baked until the crust is flaky. This recipe is something everybody will like who has a sweet tooth. Oddy Ecobake makes the baking process easier. Its non-greasy nature helps to make the perfect pie.

  • Pastry dough
  • Oddy Ecobake
  • 1 apple deskinned
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp Cinnamon powder
  • 3 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp melted butter
  • 1-2 tbsp Pineapple Jam
  • All-purpose flour 400 gms
  • Salt ½ tsp
  • Sugar 1/4th cup
  • Unsalted butter cubed 200 gms (cold)
  • 1 tbsp chilled water



  • In a bowl add all-purpose flour, salt, sugar and unsalted butter. Make sure the butter is cold and cubed. With your fingers softly crumble the butter and mix it into the dough. Make sure the butter is still in a crumbled state and not completely melted in the dough. Add cold water 1 tbsp and make sure you make everything combined into a mixture.
  • The consistency of the dough should not be perfect. Keep the dough in Oddy Ecobake and place a cling film on it and roll it into a medium sized chapati shape and evenly throughout.
  • Slice the apple thinly. In a bowl add sliced apples, lemon juice, cinnamon powder and sugar powder. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius
  • In a baking tray place Oddy Ecobake to make our baking process easy. Do not grease as Oddy Ecobakeis grease-proof. Place the pastry dough and coat the dough with pineapple jam in the center part. Arrange the apple filling one by one as shown in the video.
  • Now fold the dough from the outer to inner sides of the remaining dough. Apply leftover butter over the apple galette. And spread the sugar on the outer layer only.
  • Bake for 30-40 mins. Let it cool for 15 mins. Then Slice it and enjoy with ice cream and caramel sauce.
