Instant Halwa with Corn Flour

About the Recipe

Do try this instant halwa recipe whenever there are surprise guests or for a quick evening snack. You need only a handful of ingredients to make this halwa. Oddy Ecobake cooking paper trays are used to spread and set your halwa without greasing the plate.

  • Corn flour - 1 cup & Water - 2 cups
  • Ghee - 1 + 2 tbsp & Almonds and Cashew - 2 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder - a pinch & Elaichi powder - 1 tsp
  • Jaggery - 1 cup & Oddy Ecobake Cooking Paper Tray



  • Mix corn flour with water without any lumps to make corn flour syrup. Heat ghee in a pan and roast broken cashews and almonds in it.
  • Keep the nuts aside. Add jaggery to the same pan and melt it. Add a pinch of turmeric powder and elaichi powder to it. Add corn flour syrup to it.
  • Cook until the corn flour syrup and jaggery mixture thickens and becomes nonsticky. Add the roasted nuts and 2 spoons of ghee to the halwa and mix well.
  • Transfer the halwa to a plate lined with an Oddy Ecobake cooking paper tray. Spread it and let it rest for a while. Cut the halwa into desired shapes and sizes before serving.
