Coconut Puri

About the Recipe

Make puri in a different style by adding coconut and freshly chopped coriander leaves. This puri has a unique flavor that will not leave from your taste buds. Ingredients

 

  • Wet coconut half
  • Garlic 3-4 pods
  • Ginger 1 inch
  • 1 tsp jeera
  • 3-4 green chillies
  • 1 small bunch coriander leaves
  • Water as required
  • 2 cup rice flour
  • Oil for frying

Directions

 

  • Take half wet coconut and remove the brownskin from it. Chop the coconut coarsely. In a mixer grinder add chopped coconut, garlic, ginger, jeera, chillies, coriander leaves and little water to form a paste.
  • Transfer it in a bowl. And 1 cup rice flour and salt. Mix well and adjust. Add 1 more cup of rice flour and mix again. Make it into a soft dough. Add oil and mix well. Let it rest for 5-10 mins. After sometime, make the dough into small sized balls.
  • In the rolling pan keep a plastic sheet and grease with little oil once. Keep the dough and fold the plastic sheet over it, take a small plate as shown and press it gently as shown in video.
  • Now add sesame seeds on top of it and again gently press with the hands or the sheet. Now heat oil in kadai and fry the puris in medium to hot flame on both sides.
  • Our puris are ready to eat. You can store these in Oddy Uniwrap to keep the puris fresh and crisp for longer hours. You can also pack the puris in Oddy Uniwrap and give it in tiffin. Serve with sauce or chutney and enjoy hot puris.
