About the Recipe

Chai is incomplete without snacks, and namkeen is one chai-time snack that is always available in our kitchens. Rather than indulging in store-bought namkeen, make this healthy namkeen at home on your own by using Oddy Ecobake.

Ingredients

  • 2 bowl rice flour
  • 1/4 bowl moong flour
  • 1 spoon kalonji
  • 1 spoon cumin seeds
  • 2 spoon ghee
  • Pinch of hing
  • Salt as per taste
  • Curry leaves
  • Coriander
  • 4 green chillies
  • 1 garlic
  • Ginger
  • 4 spoon oil

Directions

  • On a plate, add 2 bowl rice flour and start adding 1/4 bowl moong flour, 1 spoon kalonji, 1 spoon cumin seeds, 2 spoon ghee, a pinch of hing, Salt as per taste, curry leaves and coriander.
  • In a mixer, grind the remaining ingredients like 4 green chillies, 1 garlic and some Ginger. Now add this paste to the main mixture we prepared earlier and mix it well.
  • In a kadhai, add about 4 spoon oil and heat it. Now add this hot oil to the mixture.
  • After some time, knead the dough using your hands. Keep adding water as per requirement for the dough.
  • Now put some oil in kadhai and heat it. Pinch small balls from dough and using an Oddy Ecobake sheet, roll it out. This way, the dough will not stick.
  • You can also use a katori to make a small, round shape of the dough.
  • Now put the rolled out namkeen dough into the oil and fry it till it becomes golden brown in colour.
  • Serve it with fresh coriander chutney or any other dip of your liking.
