Vrat Ka Dhokla

This Navratri season try this amazing dhokla recipe, made of premix flour, which can also be prepared at home easily. So don’t worry if you have guest over at your home, or feel like eating something delicious during the Navratri, because now you know how to make this special vrat dhokla at home.

Ingredients

 

  • 1.5 cup Sama rice (भगर या व्रत के चावल )
  • 1/2 tbsp Sago (साबूदाना )
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds (जीरा )
  • 1 tsp black pepper (काली मिर्च )
  • 1 tsp RockSalt (सेंधा नमक )

Directions

 

  • In a pan add ½ cup of Sabudana, for flavor you can add 1 spoon of black pepper and 1 spoon of cumin seeds.
  • Dry roast these ingredients on low flame and let them cool for sometime. Now add 1.5 cups of sama rice in the pan, mix them and let them cool. Meanwhile add black salt to it and mix it well.
  • Add this mixture in the grinding jar and grind them to get fine powder, and your premix flour is ready.
  • Now to make Dhokla, take ½ cup of premix in the grinding jar then add ¼ cup of dahi and ¼ cup of water. Grind them and let it rest for 10-15 mins. After 15 mins, grind it again, to get a smooth paste.
  • Transfer the batter to the mixing bowl, add some water to maintain the consistency and let it rest for around 10-15 mins, meanwhile set up the steamer and line the mold with Oddy Ecobake baking and cooking paper.
  • Now add 1 spoon of Eno fruit salt to the batter and transfer it to the tin, and steam for 35 min on full flame.
  • When ready, demold it and cut it into pieces, and your dhokla is ready to serve with chutney.
