Beautiful Blue Velvet Cake

About the Recipe

Add a twist to your usual vanilla cake by adding a few drops of royal blue gel food color to the cake mix. The blue velvet cake is made from scratch with a blend of cocoa powder, flour, and vinegar. This will be moist, rich, and delicious—the perfect way to celebrate your special occasion. The cake is baked on the stove, yet it is baked soft and smooth by lining your baking pan with Oddy Ecobake, which is non-sticky, easy to clean, and heat-resistant.

Ingredients

  • Powdered sugar-1/2 cup+2 tbsp & Refined Oil-1/4 cup & Vanilla essence-1 tsp
  • Lukewarm Milk-1/2 cup & All-purpose flour-1 cup & Pinch of salt
  • Cocoa powder-1 tsp & Baking powder-1 tsp & Baking soda-1/4 tsp
  • Vinegar-1 tbsp & Chilled whipping cream-1 cup
  • Royal blue gel food colour & Sugar syrup: 2 tbsp Sugar + ¼ cup water
  • White chocolate compound-6 tbsp & Grated white chocolate-6 tbsp
  • Nozzle no.126 & Star-shaped nozzle & Golden and silver sugar balls
  • Oddy Ecobake

Directions

  • Mix together oil and powdered sugar in a mixing bowl. Add vanilla essence and milk to it and mix well. Now add the sifted dry ingredients to it and whisk well. Then add blue gel food color to it and mix well. At last, add vinegar to it and mix to form a batter with ribbon consistency.
  • Line a 6-inch baking pan with Oddy Ecobake. Transfer the batter immediately into it, spread it out, and tap it well. Cover and preheat a deep-bottomed vessel for 10 minutes with a wire stand in it. Place the baking pan in it. Cover and bake for 40–45 minutes.
  • After 45 minutes, check with a toothpick—a clean toothpick means a perfectly baked cake. Remove it from the vessel, let it cool, and unmould. The cake sponge is ready. Divide the cake into three layers after scraping off the top layer.
  • Beat cold whipping cream in a bowl until fluffy. Apply cream to the cake board, place a layer of cake, soak with sugar syrup, and apply cream and garnish with grated white chocolate on it. Repeat the process for other layers, too.
  • Frost the cake with cream and smooth the sides using a card. Clean the cake board and refrigerate for 15 minutes. Make cake crumbs for the top layer.
  • Make a heart pattern and cut it out as shown. Transfer the frosting cream into a piping bag and decorate as shown outside the heart cut-out. Garnish with blue cake crumbs in the heart cut-out as shown.
  • Decorate with a star-shaped nozzle on the bottom as shown. Garnish with golden and silver sugar balls. The delicious and rich blue velvet cake is ready.
