Ingredients

  • 1 bowl moong dal
  • 2 bowl rice flour
  • 4 bowl water
  • 1 spoon oil
  • Salt as per taste
  • 2-3 pinch of hing
  • 1 tsp ajwain
  • 2 big spoon white sesame seeds
  • 1 spoon red chilli powder
  • Oil for deep fry
  • Oddy Ecobake

Directions

  • In a mixer add moong dal and grind to form a fine powder. Transfer it in a dish, add rice flour. In a vessel add water and let it boil.
  • Add oil, salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder, hing, ajwain, sesame seeds into boiling water and mix well. Let the water boil nicely. Then add our flour mixture and mix well. Switch off the flame and cover it with a lid and leave it for 10 mins.
  • After 10 mins transfer the mixture into a dish. Wet your hands and make a dough from the mixture. Add a little water if needed and make a smooth dough.
  • Add some oil and mix the dough well. Take the chakli mold and apply oil inside it. Fill the mold with the dough. Use Oddy Ecobake for making the chakli. Oddy Ecobake is non-sticky and also reusable.
  • In a kadai add oil for frying the chakli, add the chaklis once the oil is nicely hot. Hot oil will make our chaklis crispy and well cooked from inside. Cook on medium flame. After 2-3 mins turn the chaklis to cook on the other side as well.
  • Once chaklis are well cooked, remove them and store it in an air tight container.
