Chocolate cake is loved by everyone, especially kids. Chocolate cake is not very hard to make as it seems so. So, here is the recipe for chocolate cake which you can make at home and see the smile spread on the lips of your family members.

Ingredients

For chocolate cake

1 cup oil, 1 1/2 cups castor sugar, 2 eggs, 2 tsp vanilla, 1 cup yogurt, 1 cup boiling hot water, 3 cups all-purpose flour, 1 cup cocoa, 2 tsp baking soda, a pinch of Salt,

For the chocolate fudge frosting:

160 gm icing sugar, 30 gm cocoa powder, 1 1/2 tsp vanilla essence, 120 gm melted plain chocolate, 150 gm unsalted butter.

For the ganache:

250 ml cream, 400 gm chocolate chopped, 50 butter chopped

Method

Preheat the oven to 1700 C. Butter two 8” cake pans and line them with a parchment paper. Sift together the flour, baking soda, salt and cocoa powder in a big bowl, mix them uniformly and keep them aside. In a separate bowl, beat together oil and sugar till they become light. In a separate bowl, lightly beat eggs with vanilla essence. Now, add that egg mixture, little by little in oil and sugar mixture.

Add the dry ingredients with yogurt and water alternately. Pour the mixture into two lined pans and fill them halfway. Bake for around 25 minutes. To check whether the cake is completely cooked or not, insert a toothpick or skewer in the middle of the cake and if it comes out clean then the cake is cooked. Carefully take the cake out and place it on a cooling rack after removing the parchment paper.

Preparing the Fudge Frosting

Mix the butter, cocoa and icing sugar in a blender until it looks like a cream then add-in the cooled chocolate and vanilla.

Preparing the Ganache

Heat up cream in a pan and the moment it boils up add chopped chocolate and butter and mix them until smooth. Cool it so that it thickens.

Assemble the cake

Slice the cake into half horizontally, in equal pieces and cover the middle part with Fudge Frosting. Then join them and pour over the ganache. Decorate it with sprinkle and it is ready to serve.
