Chocolate Velvet Cake

About the Recipe

Make smooth and chocolate filled Velvet cake at home without using a microwave oven. You canmake chocolate velvet cake in a cooker without using vinegar, eggs or milk powder. Make any occasion special with this easy to make and super tasty chocolate velvet cake.

Ingredients

 

  • 1 + 1/4 cup all purpose Flour (180 gm)
  • 1/4 Tbsp Cocoa Powder
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1+1/4 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp + 2 pinches baking soda
  • ¼ cup oil
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence

Directions

 

  • Take 1.5 tsp of lime juice in a mixing bowl, add ¾ cup of milk and set them aside for 10 mins.
  • Now in another mixing bowl take 2 tbsp hot water and add 1 tbsp of coffee powder, mix them to make coffee concoction.
  • Take the bowl with the mixture of milk and lime juice and add ¼ cup + 1 tbsp of oil, 1 tsp vanilla essence and coffee concoction to it with 1 cup of powdered sugar. Mix them well.
  • Using a sieve strain ¼ cup + 1 tbsp of all purpose flour , ¼ cup of cocoa powder, 1+¼ tsp of baking powder, ¼ tsp of baking soda and ⅛ tsp of salt. Mix all the dry and wet ingredients well to make smooth and lump free batter.
  • Transfer the batter into a 7 inch cake tin, lined with Oddy ecobake baking and cooking paper. Place the cake tin in pre heated pressure cooker and bake it for 50 mins on medium flame. After 50-55 mins take out the cake tin and let it cool down.
  • Meanwhile we will prepare the frosting, in a pan take 100gm of chopped white compound chocolate and 80 ml of milk. Melt the chocolate on low flame while stirring.
  • Ina chilled mixing bowl take 1+¼ cup of chilled whipping cream and beat it using a beater.
  • Take 2 spatulas of whipped cream in a separate bowl and place it in the freezer, while add the white melted chocolate in the remaining cream and add ¼ cup of cocoa powder along with 4-5 tbsp of powdered sugar, and mix them well.
  • Transfer the chocolate velvet cram into a large piping bag. Demold the cake and divide it in 3 layers.
  • Moist the cake using sugar syrup and add a layer of chocolate velvet cream and add another layer. Repeat the process for all three layers. Smooth the top layer of cake and crumb coat it.
  • Using a spatula and a card, smoothen the top and sides of the cake. Now use edible gold dust and decorate the cake as shown in the video.
  • Now take some left out cake crumbs and add 1 spatula of chocolate velvet cream, mix them to make semi soft dough. Using straw or toothpicks make buds like structure as shown.
  • Take the remaining whipped cream and add some chocolate velvet cream to it, mix them and divide it into 2 parts. In one portion add a few drops of super red gel food color and in another one we will add green gel food color.
  • Now, transfer these creams in a separate piping bag and we will make flowers around the buds, as shown in the video.
  • Now decorate the cake using these roses as shown in the video, using a star shape nozzle to decorate the base of the cake. Your chocolate velvet cake is ready to serve.
