Coconut Burfi With Desiccated Coconut Powder

Coconut burfi is one of the most commonly prepared sweet recipes, especially in South India. Traditionally, coconut burfi is made with fresh coconut. Today we are going to make coconut burfi in an easy method using desiccated coconut. Ecobake helps to make your burfi without greasing the tray.

Ingredients

 

  • Desicatted Coconut - 1 Cup
  • Sugar - 1 Cup
  • Milk - 1/2 Cup
  • Saffron - 1/2 Pinch(Soaked in 1 tbsp of water)
  • Pista To Garnish
  • Edible Silver To Garnish

Directions

 

  • Boil milk in a pan and add sugar to it. Keep the stove on medium heat and let the milk thicken. Add desiccated coconut powder once the milk thickens well and reduces to half. 
  • Keep the stove on low heat and let the milk and coconut combine well. Once the milk and coconut turn into a mass, and oil starts leaving the sides of the pan, add the saffron water to the coconut mixture.
  • Transfer this mixture to a tray lined with Ecobake brown paper. Cut the burfi into small pieces when the mixture cools down and becomes warm. Garnish with edible silver, serve, and enjoy.
