Crispy and Healthy Chakli

About the Recipe

Chakli is a traditional recipe made especially during festivals like Diwali. Here we are going to make the chakli flour by roasting the ingredients one by one and then making chakli using homemade chakli flour. Uniwraps paper foil helps to make concentric circles with chakli dough and fry them in oil.

Ingredients

 

  • Rice - 4 cups , Gram dal - 2 cups & Urad dal - 1 cup
  • Flattend rice - 1 cup, Mung dal - 1/2 cup & Sago - 1/2 cup
  • Coriander seeds - 1/ 2 cup, Cumin - 1/4 cup& ground flour- 4cup
  • Oil - 4 Tbsp, Carom seed - 1 tbsp & sesame seeds - 2 tbsp
  • Turmeric - 1/2 tbsp & Red chutney - 1 tbsp
  • Kashmiri red chili powder - 1 tbsp, Salt & Warm water

Directions

 

  • Roast rice 4 cups, gram dal 2 cups, udi dal 1 cup, poha 1 cup, mung dal 1/2 cup, sago 1/2 cup, coriander 1/2 cup, cumin 1/4 cup lightly on medium flame. Cool all roasted ingredients in a pan. After all the ingredients cool down, combine them and grind them.
  • Add 4 cups of ground flour, 4 tablespoons of hot oil to a plate and mix together. Now add 1 spoon of carom seed , 2 spoons of white sesame seeds, 1/2 spoon of turmeric, 1 spoon of red chutney, 1 spoon of Kashmiri red chilli powder, salt to taste and mix well.
  • Knead the dough using warm water. Soften the dough by using little water. Fill the softened dough into the mold. Prepare round chaklis on a piece of Uniwraps paper foil using chakli maker. Put the prepared chaklis in medium hot oil and deep fry both sides on medium flame.
