Healthy Akki Rotti

About the Recipe

A flatbread called Akki Rotti is created with rice flour, herbs, spices, and vegetables. “Akki” means rice and “Rotti” are flatbreads. This is a common breakfast recipe from Karnataka.   They complement coconut chutney well. Oddy Ecobake Brown, which are non-stick, grease-proof, and reusable, making it easy to roll dough balls flat into rottis.

Ingredients

 

  • Rice flour-2 cups & Sesame seeds-1 tbsp & Coriander leaves-few
  • Dil leaves-1 cup & Methi or fenugreek leaves -1 cup
  • Green chilli-3 & Cumin-1/2 tbsp & Curry leaves-few
  • Roasted peanuts-1 tbsp & Fried garm-2 tbsp
  • Salt-for taste & Oil & Hot water
  • Oddy Ecobake Brown

Directions

 

  • Grind roasted peanuts and fried gram into a coarse powder.
  • Take rice flour, sesame seeds, coriander leaves, dil leaves, methi, chopped green chilies, cumin, curry leaves, ground powder, salt, and oil to a mixing bowl and mix thoroughly with hot water to form a soft dough.
  • Grease with oil and pinch to make equal roundels from the dough.
  • Grease Oddy-Ecobake Brown with oil and flatten the balls into thin rottis.
  • Flip it on to a hot tawa, cover, and cook until it cooks well on both sides. The iron-rich and oil-free Akki Rotti is ready.
