Kadhi Pakora

About the Recipe

Kadhi pakora is a famous dish originating form the state of Rajasthan and commonly consumed all over South Asia. It consists of a thick gram flour-based gravy. It contains fritters known as pakoras. The gravy is usually made with yogurt and gram flour mixture to give it a creamy texture and a slightly sour taste. Oddy Uniwraps can be used to remove excess oil from the fired pakoras.

Ingredients

 

  • Oddy Uniwraps
  • Gram flour 2 cups
  • Turmeric ½ tsp
  • Salt as required
  • Chilli powder 1 tbsp
  • Onion chopped 1
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
  • Tomatoes chopped 1
  • Coriander leaves chopped
  • Gram masala 1 pinch
  • Water as required
  • Curd 1 cup

Directions

 

  • In a bowl mix gram flour, salt, turmeric and chilli powder. Add water and make a smooth batter. Batter should not be very flowy or too thick.
  • Keep oil for frying in a kadai. Once the oil is hot, wet your hands and make pakoras shapes. Dip in hot oil. Let it fry nicely on both sides in medium flame
  • After frying, remove the pakora in Oddy Uniwraps. Oddy Uniwraps is non-sticky and grease-proof. It removes the excess oil from the pakoras.
  • For the kadhi, in a kadai add oil, onions, tomatoes and coriander leaves. Saute nicely for 3-4 mins. Add ginger garlic paste, salt, turmeric, a pinch of garam masala and mix well.
  • In a bowl mix curd and gram flour with water and keep aside. Add water and cook for 3 mins. Now add the curd mixture and slow cook for 5-7 mins. Add the pakoras and simmer for another 3-4 mins. Our Kadhi pakora is ready. Serve with plain hot rice.
