Karnataka Special Akki Rotti With Corn and Spinach

About the Recipe

Akki rotti is a famous south Indian recipe hailing from Karnataka. Today we are going to give it a twist by adding corn and palak to it. Oddy Ecobake helps you flatten the akki rotti with your hands and transfer it easily to the tawa.

Ingredients

 

  • 1 cup rice flour & 1/2-3/4 cup sweet corn
  • 1-1 1/2 cup chopped spinach/palak
  • 3-4 cloves garlic, green chillies & Oddy Ecobake
  • Coriander leaves, salt, butter & oil

Directions

 

  • Heat butter in a kadai, add green chillies and chopped garlic to it, and roast them well.
  • Once the raw smell is gone, add corn to it and let it cook well.
  • Add a pinch of salt and some spinach leaves to the kadai and let it cook well. Let them cool down.
  • Once they reach the normal temperature, mix them with rice flour, oil, and water to prepare the dough.
  • Divide the dough into 4 or 5 balls. Flatten the balls with Oddy Ecobake as shown.
  • Transfer the raw akki rotti onto the tawa with Oddy Ecobake and gently peel it off as shown.
  • Cook the akki rotti until brown spots appear on it. Serve them hot!
