About the Recipe

If you find it too difficult to make your family members and kids eat healthy foods like leafy vegetables. Then this recipe shows you how to make an evening snack from methi (fenugreek) leaves and wheat flour. This can be stored for up to 15 days if fried. Use Oddy Ecobake if you want a healthier version of pakodas that do not need any greasing while steaming.

Ingredients

 

  • Finely chopped methi leaves-1 cup & Salt- as needed
  • Chilli powder-1/2 tsp & Turmeric powder- ¼ tsp
  • Carom seeds (Ajwain)-1 tsp & White sesame seeds-1to 2 tsp
  • Lime juice from one lemon
  • Wheat flour-1 cup & Besan flour-1/2 cup &
  • Hing & water
  • Ginger chilli paste -1/2 tsp
  • Oil- 1 to 2 tsp and frying
  • Oddy Ecobake

Directions

 

  • Add chopped methi leaves, salt, chilli powder, turmeric powder, crushed ajwain, sesame seeds, lime juice, oil, wheat flour, besan flour, and ginger chilli paste to a bowl and add water gradually to make a hard dough.
  • Grease your palm with oil and roll into small balls. Fry these balls in hot oil. The hot pakodas are ready.
  • Make healthy pakodas by cutting Oddy Ecobake into the shape of a steamer plate, pressing the dough into a circle as shown, and steaming for 5 to 7 minutes on high heat. Then cut the steamed dough into small squares.
  • Heat oil in a pan, splutter mustard, add hing powder and sesame seeds, and fry the cut pakodas for some time. The hot pakodas are ready to serve.
