Millet Dhapates

About the Recipe

Dhapates are multigrain roti which is similar to Thalipeeth. Dhapates is a famous dish of Maharashtra, made with mixing all the grains and spices like jeera, carrom seeds, chillies etc. Use Oddy Ecobake can be used to flatten the Dhapates. It’s non -sticky property helps to make perfect dhapates with less effort.

Ingredients

 

  • 2-3 green chillies
  • 1 garlic
  • 1 tsp carrom seeds
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • Salt as per taste
  • 2 bowl flour of pearl millet (bajara)
  • 1 big spoon sorghum flour (jowar)
  • 1 big spoon wheat flour
  • 2 big spoon gram flour
  • 1 tsp Red chili powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 2 tsp white sesame
  • Coriander leaves chopped
  • Green onions (spring onion)
  • Oddy Ecobake
  • water

Directions

 

  • In a mixer add green chillies, garlic, carrom seeds, jeera, salt and make a fine paste.
  • In a dish add pearl millet, sorghum flour, wheat flour, gram flour and add the ground paste. Now add chilli powder, turmeric, sesame seeds, freshly chopped coriander leaves and spring onion chopped and mix the dough well. Make the dough into small balls as we do for chapatis.
  • Add water little by little and make a smooth dough. Keep Oddy Ecobake in rolling pan. Oddy Ecobake is non-sticky and eco-friendly and hence a safer option.
  • Wet your hands a little and place our dough ball and flatten it with hands as shown in video to make a dhapata. Make holes on four sides as shown.
  • Keep the pan for heating. Add oil in pan and place our Dhapata. And cook well on both sides. Serve hot with curd and pickle.
