The Khari shankarpalya is a recipe that is made of all-purpose flour, sugar, and oil. It is a famous sweet savory that can be made during festivals and has a shelf life of up to 10 days. The Oddy Uniwraps paper is used in the recipe to easily drop the Shankarpalya into the oil.

Ingredients

 

  • All-purpose Flour - 2 cups & Cumin - 1 tbsp
  • Carom seed - 1/2 tbsp & Salt –1/2 tsp
  • Oil-for frying & Water-as needed

Directions

 

  • Add flour, cumin seeds, crushed carom seeds, salt to taste, and 2 teaspoons of oil to a bowl and mix it. Knead the dough using little by little water.
  • Take a big ball of kneaded dough and roll it into thin chapatis. Cut the shankarpalya from the chapati as shown.
  • Transfer the prepared shankarpalya onto a piece of Oddy Uniwraps brown paper foil, which helps to easily drop them into oil without sticking to the rolling board.
  • Drop the prepared shankarpalya in hot oil and fry them on both sides until brown and crispy. The crispy shankarpalya is ready to eat. It can be stored up to 10 days.
