2-in-1 Recipe Chakli and Kodubale

This wholesome chakli makes a great snack to enjoy over a cup of tea. Oddy Uniwraps brown paper foil helps in getting perfect chaklis without any greasing.

Ingredients

 

  • Rice Flour - 3 Cups
  • Maida - 1 Cup
  • Fried Gram - 1 Cup and Salt To Taste
  • Jeera - 1 Spoon and Hing - 1/2 Spoon
  • Chilli Powder - 1/4 Spoon
  • Chakli/Chakkuli Preparation- Hot Oil To Mix In Ready To Use Flour: 2-3 Tbsp and Oil To Fry
  • Kodubale/Ring Murukku Preparation- Hot Oil To Mix In Ready To Use Flour : 2-3 Tbsp, Fresh Coconut Gratings - 1 Tbsp, Curry Leaves & Coriander Leaves - Few, Green Chilli - 3 Nos. and Oil To Fry

Directions

 

  • For Ready To Use Flour- Add 3 cups of rice flour, 1 cup of maida to a bowl. Take 1 cup of fried gram and make it fine powder. Add that gram powder along with rice flour and maida. To that same bowl add salt to taste, 1/2 spoon of hing, 1/2 spoon of chilli powder and 1 spoon of jeera.
  • Now in a thick bottom kadai, add this mixture in Low to Medium flame, roast till till it is warm to touch in hand.
  • Roasting like this helps in mixing all the ingredients properly and helps to preserve this flour for 4 months.
  • When ever you want to prepare chalk/kodubale, take the required amount of flour “Ready to Use Flour” and prepare chaklis.
  • For Chakli: Take 1 cup of “Ready To Use Flour”. Add 2 Tbsp of hot oil and Mix it well. When you hold the flour in fist, it should form a shape. Now it is right stage, if not add some more hot oil and mix it well till you able to form shape in fist. Add required amount of water
  • And make a dough of chapati dough consistency. Take chakli mould and add this dough to it. Spread Oddy Uniwraps Brown paper foil and start pressing chakli on it in your desired size.
  • Drop chaklis in hot oil and fry in medium flame till it turns crispy and golden brown in color. Tasty chakli is ready in 5 minutes.
  • For Kodubale- Take 1.5 cup of “Ready To Use Flour” and add 2 Tbsp of hot oil Mix it well. When you hold the flour in fist, it should form a shape.
  • Now it is right stage, if not add some more hot oil and mix it well till you able to form shape in fist. In a grinder, add 1 tbsp of freshly grated coconut, 5-6 curry leaves and few coriander leaves, 3-4 green chillies. Grind it to fine paste after adding required amount of water.
  • Add this mixture to the flour and mix it well. Knead the dough to chapati dough consistency. Now roll this like ring and drop this kodubale in hot oil.
  • Fry in medium flame only till it turns crispy and golden brown color. Tasty Kodubale/Ring Murukku is ready.
