Arbi Fry – Tiffin recipe

About the Recipe

In this colocasia fry recipe, boiled arbi is tossed in spices and then sautéed until crispy. It pairs best with rice, dal, roti or curd rice.

Ingredients

 

  • Taro root or colocasia - 250 grams
  • Mustard oil - 1 tbsp
  • Asafoetida and carom seeds
  • Dry spices- garam masala, red chilli powder, coriander powder - 2 tsp and turmeric
  • Ginger-green chilli paste

Directions

 

  • Wash and peel the arbi. Then cut it into small round pieces.
  • Take some mustard oil in a kadhai. Once it is hot, add asafoetida and carom seeds.
  • Now add dry spices like garam masala, red chilli powder, coriander powder and turmeric.
  • Then add ginger-chilli paste and add boiled taro roots.
  • Cook it on medium flame and also add some salt. Fry it now.
  • Pack arbi fry and rotis using Oddy Uniwraps paper foil as it will keep it hot and fresh.
