Black Forest Cake (1.5 kg) 

About the Recipe

This recipe for black forest cake makes the traditional cake with whipped cream icing and red cherries. We have added eggs to give extra fluffiness to the cake, but the Black Forest can be made without adding eggs too. Ecobake helps in getting the perfect shape for your cake without any greasing and no need for cleaning afterward.

Ingredients

 

  • 1 ¼ cup maida & ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder & ½ tsp baking soda
  • Eggs – 5 &Vanilla Essence – 1 tsp
  • 1 ½ cup powdered sugar & ¼ cup – icing sugar
  • ¾ cup milk and 30 gm butter
  • 1.5 cup whipping cream & 1 tsp Vanilla essence
  • ½ cup sugar + ½ cup water

Directions

 

  • Beat 5 eggs in a mixing bowl and add vanilla essence, sugar and give them a good mix. Add milk and melted sugar to the mixture and add the dry ingredients required to make the cake to prepare the cake batter.
  • Transfer the batter to a cake mould lined with Ecobake cooking paper. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C for 10 minutes. Bake the cake for 50 minutes in the oven.
  • Meanwhile, prepare the cream for frosting by beating 1.5 cups of chilled whipping cream, vanilla essence and icing sugar in a mixing bowl. Prepare the sugar syrup by mixing water and sugar.
  • Once the cake is baked and cooled, slice the cake into 3 equal parts. Place the cake layer on a cake board with some cream on it. Soak the cake layer with sugar syrup, then apply whipped cream and spread uniformly.
  • Apply and spread chopped cherries and chocolate on the cream and repeat the above steps by placing another two layers of the cake. Once the cake is set, frost the cake completely with whipped cream.
  • Decorate the cake with grated chocolate pieces. Make flower designs on the cake using pink and white cream. Place cherries on top of the flowers and your cake is ready.
