Cabbage Vadas

About the Recipe

Make this unique vadas made with cabbage. We have completely omitted adding flour it in. A healthy way to eat vadas with full of nutrition. Try this recipe as an evening snack or as a side food dish. Ingredients

 

  • Oddy Ecobake Non-stick Liners
  • 1 cabbage coarsely chopped
  • 1 bowl of yellow moong beans
  • 4 green chillies
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 10-15 garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 teaspoons of coriander
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon of sesame seeds

Directions

 

  • Wash and soak moong dal for 4 hours. Remove the water and make a fine paste of the moong dal in the mixer. Transfer it in a dish.
  • In the same mixer jar add chillies, ginger, garlic, jeera, coriander seeds, and make a coarse paste. Transfer it in the dish. Add cabbage, salt, sesame seeds, crushed owa, rice flour, turmeric powder, finely chopped coriander leaves, squeeze half lemon juice, mix everything well.
  • Keep our steaming vessel in stove adding water in it. Cover it and let the water boil. Line the Oddy Ecobke non-stick lines in our steaming plate. Oddy Ecobake non-stick liners helps in easy demolding. Add our vada mixture and pat it evenly as shown. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top. Place it the steaming vessel. Cover it and cook for 10 mins in high flame.
  • Once cooked, let it cool down. Remove the Oddy Ecobake non-stick liners slowly once completely cooled. Cut the vadas into equal shapes. And deep fry in hot oil. Our Cabbage vadas are ready. Serve hot with sauce and green chutney.
