Cassata Ice Cream is a dessert recipe that is named after a traditional Italian sweet. This recipe of Cassata ice-cream is a no bake and no cook recipe and doesn’t need whipping cream. Use ingredients are easily available everywhere to make this amazing home made delicacy.

Ingredients

 

  • 3/4th cup milk
  • 1+1/4th whipping cream powder
  • 1/4 tsp each of strawberry, vanilla, pista essence
  • 2 drops each of pink, yellow, green gel colour
  • 1 biscuit packet
  • Chopped almonds and pista
  • 1/2 cup condensed milk

Directions

 

  • In a bowl, take 3/4th cup chilled milk, 1+1/4th whipping cream powder and mix well. Beat for 5-7 minutes continuously till it thickens.
  • Add 1/2 cup condensed milk and mix well and icecream base is ready.
  • Divide the mixture into 3 equal portions.
  • Take first bowl and add 1/4 tsp strawberry essence and 2 drops pink gel food color and mix well. Take the second bowl and add 1/4tsp vanilla essence and 2 drops yellow gel food color and mix well. Take the third bowl and add 1/4tsp pista essence and 2 drops green gel food color and mix well.
  • Take a cake tin and line it with Oddy ecobake baking and cooking paper
  • Take a biscuit packet and spread a layer of biscuits uniformly and soak the biscuits with chilled milk. Then add another layer of biscuits and soak again with chilled milk.
  • Now layer the icecream. First spread vanilla ice-creama and spread smoothly. Then layer strawberry icecream. Then layer pista icecream and spread uniformly.
  • Garnish the cake using finely chopped almond and pista. Cover the tin using cling wrap and refrigerate till it sets.
  • Once it's set, remove it from container and enjoy your icecream.

Ingredients

 

  • 1 cup Gram Flour (Besan/Chickpea Flour)
  • 1 tablespoon Semolina (rava/sooji), optional
  • 1½ teaspoons Lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon crushed Green Chilli-Ginger (or paste)
  • 1/4 cup Curd (plain yogurt)

Directions

 

  • Take all ingredients to prepare batter.
  • Pour approx. 2-3 cups water in steamer at bottom and heat it over medium flame.
  • Make sure that steamer is at least 4-5 minutes heated before placing the plates (filled with batter) in it.
  • Grease 2 small plates or thalis (4-5 inch diameter) using 1-teaspoon oil.
