Corn Paratha

About the Recipe

In North India, paratha is a popular dish prepared in many different ways in different households. One such unique interpretation of the popular paratha is the Corn Paratha. Sweet corn, wheat flour, coriander leaves, carom seeds, and refined oil are all the ingredients that go into these parathas that can be made in under 15 mins. Ingredients

 

  • Oddy Uniwraps
  • 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric
  • 1 tsp red chillies
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon of carrom seeds
  • A little wet coriander
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 2 corn cobs boiled
  • Stuffing Ingredients: 2 tbsp oil, 2 green chillies, 1 large onion, 1 tsp ginger garlic paste, 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric, 1 tsp red chillies, 1 tsp amchur powder,1 tsp cumin powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, salt to taste, a little coriander

Directions

 

  • In a dish add wheat flour, turmeric powder, chilli powder, salt, carrom seeds, coriander leaves and mix well. Add water and make a smooth dough.
  • For the stuffing, add corn in a mixer, do not add any water and make a coarse paste. In a kadai add oil, chillies, onions, ginger garlic paste and saute nicely. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, paste of corn and mix well.
  • Add amchur powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, salt as required and mix well. Cook for 5-7 mins and switch off the flame. Add coriander leaves in our stuffing.
  • Make small doughs and roll with a rolling pin as we do for parathas. Roll the parathas very thinly. Apply the stuffing on the paratha and place another thinly rolled paratha over it. Tap the ends to bind it together.
  • In a hot tawa add oil and cook the paratha on both sides nicely. Our nutritious corn paratha is ready. Wrap the parathas in Oddy Uniwraps to pack it for tiffins. Oddy Uniwraps keeps food fresh and hot for longer. Serve corn parathas with sauce, chutney, curd or pickle.
